I can't believe it's been almost a month since my last post. My life has gotten really busy lately, and my trip planning has suffered as a result. And to make matters worse, I found out that my god-damned ISP is blocking all incoming ports, which means that nobody can view this website outside my apartment. So right now, I'm writing this to nobody. I hope somebody reads it someday, though. I'm going to try to find a home for my computer soon. Hopefully it will be located somewhere with an ISP that understands that I am paying for bandwidth and won't block me.
Like I said before, not much has changed with my trip planning since my last post. Hopefully that will change soon. On Monday I get my last round of shots. I found out that my insurance will cover 80% of everything, which is a HUGE relief for me, considering that the hospital charged me $300 just to tell me which shots I needed to get, which I already knew from the 5 minutes of research I did online beforehand. Now I feel like I can go on a spending spree. Remember, it's not what you spend, it's what you save.
I just thought of something: you're probably reading my blog thinking it sucks so far. All I've written about has been my blog itself and my vaccinations. Well, I'd like to lay out some ground rules now. This is a travel blog, so I plan on mostly posting stuff about my trip. Right now I'm in the planning stages, so nothing extremely interesting is happening. Don't worry, once I get going, I'm sure I'll have lots to write about. I probably won't review and polish the entries in this blog very often, but I will try to write an occasional well-polished story about a specific place I visit.
I'm not trying to make a living with this website. Instead, I just feel that it's the best way to keep in touch with friends and relatives when I'm on the road. Of course, you're welcome to follow my journeys if you don't know me. I'm just asking that you don't complain if I start to cleverly split infinitives or use prepositions to end sentences with. But feel free to email me if there is an event near me that I could go to that is worth seeing/writing about.
So in summary, I don't have any audience yet, but I still feel the need to criticize them. I'm my own worst PR nightmare.
